Robert Middlebrook of Bentham (1756-1842)

• he married Alice Armitstead at Bentham on 15th March 1779.

  1. Sarah Midlebrook was baptised at Bentham on 2nd April 1780. She married Roger Walker at Bentham on 25th June 1803.
  2. William Midlebrook (1783-1873) was baptised at Bentham on 23rd November 1783.
  3. Christopher Middlebrough was baptised at Bentham on 3rd June 1787, but was buried there on 12th April 1807, aged 19.
  4. Anne Midlebrough was baptised at Bentham on 5th May 1793.
  5. John Middlebrough was baptised at Bentham on 14th August 1796. His descendants are detailed on a separate page.
  6. Robert Middlebrough was baptised at Bentham on 14th August 1796. He remained single and worked as a blacksmith. He was buried at Bentham on 3rd September 1861.

William Middlebrook of Bentham (1783-1873)

• was the son of Robert Middlebrook.
• was baptised at Bentham on 23rd November 1783.
• worked as a blacksmith.
• died in 1873 [Settle district], aged 87.
• he married Eleanor Atkinson at Bentham on 15th June 1822.
• they had three children:
  1. Robert Middlebrook (1823-1900) was baptised at Clapham on 7th September 1823.
  2. Alice Middlebrooke was baptised at Bentham on 21st May 1826, but was probably buried there on 12th January 1827.
  3. Margery Middlebrook was baptised at Bentham on 27th April 1828.

• moved around a lot before settling at Blackburn, Lancashire in the 1860s.
• worked as a horse breaker.
• died in 1900 [Blackburn district], aged 74.
• he married Judith Richardson in 1858 [Settle district].
• they had six children:
  1. Ellen Middlesbrook was born at Willy Wood, Langcliffe, Yorkshire in 1859. She married John Caunce at Blackburn in 1888.
  2. John Middlebrook (1861-1938) was born near Settle, Yorkshire in 1861.
  3. Rarey William Middlebrook was born near Settle, Yorkshire in 1863. He married Elizabeth Jane Gill at Blackburn in 1893 and they had six children:
